91. Requirements for sterilizing plants

1)A sterilising plant must comply with the general requirements for premises, structures and equipment set out in regulations 8 to 18.

 

2)The premises of a sterilising plant must be fenced and secured so as to prevent the entry of unauthorized persons, vehicles and animals, and must include-
a)unclean areas, comprising the rooms in which material is received, stored or prepared for sterilising as well as the entrance to the sterilising apparatus; and
b)clean areas, comprising the rooms in which the sterilized material is dried, milled or otherwise prepared, packed, stored or dispatched.

 

3)A solid wall must separate the unclean and clean areas, and there may be no direct contact between these areas.
