[Section 22(1)(c)] [Section 7(a),(b)]
1) | A person may not in a 14 day period, for own consumption, slaughter more than two ostriches. |
2) | A person may only slaughter birds contemplated in sub-regulation (1), on land of which he or she - |
a) | is the legally registered owner; |
b) | is the lawful tenant or occupier; or |
c) | otherwise has the right of control, management or use. |
3) | Any other legal provisions regulating the keeping and slaughtering of birds on land referred to under sub-regulation (2), must be complied with in addition to the provisions of the Act and these Regulations. |
4) | Only healthy birds may be slaughtered. |
5) | The parts of birds slaughtered that are not utilised, must be regarded as condemned material and disposed of in accordance with applicable prescripts of Part Vlll of these regulations or according to health requirements of the relevant local authority. |
