(1) | A single vine wine shall comply with the following requirements: |
(a) | It shall be produced solely from grapes that were harvested on a single unit that is registered for the production of single vine wine. |
(b) | It shall comply with the appropriate requirements in the Act for wine or a particular class of wine. |
(c) | It shall not display any unacceptable quality characteristics. |
(d) | It shall also be a wine of origin. |
(2) | Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (1)(a)— |
(a) | must, concentrated must or sweet reserve that is added to a single vine wine for purposes of sweetening shall be deemed to have been derived from grapes that were harvested on the relevant unit that is registered for the production of single vine wine, provided the total of the products thus added does not constitute more than five per cent of the volume of the single vine wine concerned; |
(b) | a spirit that is added to a single vine wine for purposes of fortification shall be deemed to have been produced from grapes that were harvested on the relevant unit that is registered for the production of single vine wine; and |
(c) | concentrated must that is added before or during alcoholic fermentation to must that is intended for a single vine wine shall be deemed to have been harvested on the relevant unit that is registered for the production of single vine wine. |
