(1) | A person shall not act as a flight engineer of a South African registered aircraft unless such person holds a valid— |
(a) | flight engineer licence and rating issued in terms of this Part; or |
(b) | flight engineer licence and rating issued by an appropriate authority of another State and validated in terms of this Part. |
(2) | A holder of a flight engineer licence shall not exercise any privilege other than a privilege granted by a licence and appropriate rating issued to such a holder. |
(3) | A holder of a flight engineer licence shall pay the annual currency fee as prescribed in Part 187 applicable to the type of licence on the anniversary date of such licence. |
