62.15.7 Designation, oversight, suspension and withdrawal

(1) A designated examiner is designated at the discretion of the Director or the organisation designated for the purpose as the case may be, to conduct tests, evaluations, or checks to determine standards and to supply such reports to or on behalf of the Director or the organisation designated for the purpose as the case may be.

 

(2) The Director or the organisation designated for the purpose in terms of Part 149, as the case may be, shall exercise oversight in respect of designated examiners for the purposes of maintenance of flight and safety standards.

 

(3) The Director or the organisation designated for the purpose in terms of Part 149, as the case may be, may suspend or withdraw at any time a designation of a designated examiner where there is reasonable grounds to suspect misconduct, which could lead to the compromising of flight safety.

 

(4) The Director or the organisation designated for the purpose in terms of Part 149, as the case may be, shall provide, in writing, reasons for the suspension or withdrawal of a designation referred to in subregulation (3).
