(1) | Each flight simulation training device (FSTD used for training, and for which a candidate for the issue, revalidation, re-issue or maintenance of competency requirement to receive credit, must be approved by the Director for each particular purpose in terms of regulation 61.01.17, taking into consideration— |
(a) | the training, testing or checking for which it is to be used; |
(b) | the particular manoeuvre, procedure, or crew member function to be performed; and |
(c) | the representation of the specific category and class of aircraft, type of aircraft, or particular variation of the type of aircraft. |
(2) | The Director may approve any other device for a purpose not provided for in subregulation (1). |
(3) | The Director may approve any of the devices, referred to in subregulations (1) and (2) on the basis of a similar approval by the regulatory body of a Contracting State. |
