(1) | Mandatory tests and inspections shall be carried in accordance with the approved maintenance programme for a particular aircraft at the prescribed times or intervals. |
(2) | Mandatory inspections include— |
(a) | for aeroplanes with a maximum certificated mass of 5 700 kg or less and with a maximum approved passenger seating configuration of not more than 9 seats, and for helicopters with a maximum certificated mass of 3 175 kg or less, and with a maximum approved passenger seating configuration of not more than 9 seats, either— |
(i) | a mandatory periodic inspection; and |
(ii) | inspections in accordance with an approved inspection programme; |
(b) | for any aircraft, other than those referred to in paragraph (a), the approved maintenance schedule for the particular category and type of aircraft at the intervals prescribed by the schedule. |
(3) | The maintenance programme referred to in subregulation (1) are defined in Document SA-CATS 43. |
