The PIC of a helicopter used in an air ambulance operation shall not undertake any air ambulance flight operation by night unless such helicopter is certified for instrument flight and is operated in accordance with its flight manual for instrument flight: Provided that in any other case an air ambulance flight which is operated under VMC—
(a) | may continue to an illuminated hospital stop or an aerodrome approved for night operations for not more than 45 minutes after sun set; and |
(b) | may commence such flight within the 45 minutes before sun rise. |
