135.08.5 En route limitations with one engine inoperative

(1)An air service operator shall not operate a twin-engine aeroplane in IMC over any route if the weight of the aeroplane is greater than the weight that will allow the aeroplane to meet the requirements of regulation 135.07.1(3)(b) in the event of an engine failure.

 

(2)An operator shall not operate a twin-engine aeroplane in VMC over any route if the weight of the aeroplane is greater than the weight that will allow the aeroplane when operating in VFR flight, to maintain at least 500 feet above the surface in the event of an engine failure.
