135.01.2 Admission to flight deck

(1)An air service operator and the PIC of any aeroplane with a flight deck door operated under this Part, shall ensure that no person, other than the flight crew members assigned to the flight, is admitted to, or carried on the flight deck of the aeroplane unless such person is—
(a)an authorised officer, inspector or authorised person; or
(b)permitted by, and carried in accordance with, the instructions contained in the operations manual referred to in regulation 135.04.2.

 

(2)Notwithstanding subregulation (1), an operator of aeroplanes certificated or authorised for flight with one pilot may use the second seat on the flight deck as a passenger seat.

 

(3)Notwithstanding subregulation (1), the PIC may, in the interests of safety, deny a person admission or remove such person from the flight deck. Any decision to deny admission or remove a person from the flight deck shall be reported to the operator and shall include the reasons for the decision.

 

(4)The PIC shall ensure that any person carried on the flight deck is made familiar with the applicable safety equipment and pertinent operational procedures.
