121.06.9 Demonstration flights

(1)No person may operate an aircraft type in commercial air transport unless he or she first conducts satisfactory demonstration flights as required by the Director in that aircraft type.

 

(2)No person may operate an aircraft in a designated special area, or use a specialised navigation system, unless he or she conducts a satisfactory demonstration flight as required by the Director.

 

(3)The demonstration flights required by subregulations (1) and (2) shall be conducted in accordance with the regulations applicable to the type of operation and aircraft type used.

 

(4)The Director may authorise deviations from this regulation if he or she finds that special circumstances make full compliance with the provisions of this regulation unnecessary.
